Colorado’s district 7 Congressman, Ed Perlmutter held a “Congress In Your Grocery Store” event at a Brighton King Soopers grocery store.
I’d estimate 250 or 300 people joined Mr. Perlmutter this afternoon.
We had been hearing all this week about the “organization” of the “mob” and it was apparent the second I walked up on the crowd.
Apparent, but different from what Robert Gibbs, President Obama and the media had been telling me.
Black shirted Union members worked the crowd and were involved in attempting to intimidate vocal health care reform opponents. There mission was clear, get in the faces of vocal opponents and shout them down.
As I walked up on the crowd the first thing I heard was a small group of AARP membership singing, “We shall overcome”.
Their signs indicated that the insurance companies were oppressing them man!.
From the various signs, I learned several things.
Health care is an absolute human right.
Jesus would support a single payer system.
Ronald Reagan destroyed America and Global Warming needs to be stopped.
Republican candidate for Colorado district 7 Brian T Campbell Sr also attended.
He spent sometime speaking to both those who are pro government health care and those who were not. I noted that as people gathered around him he went out of his way to speak with the pro health care reform folks.
This event was nothing like the ones we have been seeing on the news.
It was a little heated from time to time to the point where you wondered if a scuffle would break out.
At one point one of the peaceful health care for everyone proponents, grabbed my arm when he didn’t like what I had to say, and gave it a good squeeze.
I pulled my arm free.
A quarter hour later I noticed dried blood on my arm where he had squeezed. I guess he used had used his fingernails. There is a picture of my vicious, crazy Lefty caused, wound at the end of this posting. It’s horrific!
I meet a man (I’m embarrassed to say I’ve forgotten your name) who had received an email yesterday from the Obama machine, Organizing for America.
It read:
I wanted to send you an urgent invitation to an important public meeting with Rep. Ed Perlmutter tomorrow (Saturday, August 8th).
He’ll be talking to constituents and gathering feedback – this is an ideal opportunity to make sure your support for health insurance reform is seen and heard at exactly the right time.
Our congressional representatives are back home this month, and they’re facing more and more pressure from special interests on health insurance reform.
It’s critical that we get out there and show them where we stand.
I hope you can join us.
What: Health Care Public Event with
Rep. Ed Perlmutter
Where: King Soopers
500 E. Bromley Lane
Brighton, CO 80601
When: Saturday, August 8th
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Our representatives are under attack by Washington insiders, insurance companies, and well-financed special interests who don’t go a day without spreading lies and stirring up fear.
We need to show that we’re sick and tired of it, and that we’re ready for real change, this year.
Please come to the public meeting, and make sure that the most powerful voices in this debate are those calling for real reform, not angrily clamoring for the status quo.

P.S. – Before the event, please print off a flyer to display and make sure that your support is visible.
I’d be interested in knowing how many on our side of the health care issue were sent there by insurance companies and other special interests.
Oh, wait I do know.
Zero.
How many on their side were sent from Organizing for America and the Unions?
90% would be a good estimation when taking into consideration the professionally made Obama placards, the groups of persons all wearing the same shirts and the fact that nearly all were holding up the very same signs.
Not to mention that often when questioned they had to go to freshly printed talking points sheets.
The Left are professional protesters, we are not.
