Dan Maes

Posted on 01 September 2010 by hearus

The Hear Us Now committee met at 5:30 Wednesday morning to make a final decision regarding our continued endorsement of Republican candidate for Colorado Governor, Dan Maes. hearsml

We have, in the days following the Republican primary met and discussed, several times our growing concern and dissatisfaction with the Maes campaign.

A final decision was reached by the committee Wednesday morning to rescind our endorsement of Dan Maes.

It’s been no secret among some groups involved in the Liberty movement that we have been considering withdrawing our endorsement.

While some have challenged us suggesting that perhaps we, as a Liberty group, would not be standing on principles were we to withdraw our endorsement, we disagree.

We believe that the principles of the Liberty movement require us to cease any further support of Mr. Maes.

I have been assured that were we to withdraw our endorsement, our group would be “shunned”.

If that is the case, then so be it.

So, today we join CRL and former Senator Hank Brown as we withdraw our endorsement of Dan Maes for Governor of Colorado.

The letter to the Maes campaign is posted directly below. Click on it to download a more viewable copy in PDF form.

Hear Us Now Statement On Health Care Reform Legislation

Posted on 23 March 2010 by hearus

Sunday, March 21, 2010 was a dark day in our national history. The ship of our liberties
took a torpedo hit from our Constitutionally bankrupt leadership, and the ship is listing
badly. Socialized health care will not be fiscally or politically sustainable and is an
affront to the American people: their will, their values, and their liberties.

Even though our ship has been hit badly, it is not fatal. There is still light in the land, and
the truth of our cause shall continue to march forward.

We are witnessing the accelerated dying of the American principles of self-government,
personal responsibility, and the "consent of the governed" by the progressives in their
passage of socialized health care legislation. Their mischief has won a victory over
the "chains" of the Constitution, but their celebration will only be for a season because
they are waking up a giant in the land. We shall overcome and bring honor to the
Constitution and our forefathers once again. We shall raise a banner to declare that this
country and its people do not belong to the government, but the government belongs to
the people. This government shall not bring tyranny upon this land.

We stand on the shoulders of giants, great patriots who went before us to establish,
maintain, and defend the United States and the Republic form of government in which
the people are sovereign under the divine providence of God. We the People shall rise up
to install leaders who are worthy of this great country. Our path shall be a costly one, but
it will secure the blessings of liberty and justice for our children and generations to come.

We shall, first and foremost, work diligently to eject elected officials who do not
represent us, putting their own interests above the people, and to put in their places ones
who will put the interests of America and its people first.

We shall work with our state officials to repel the unconstitutional advances of our
Federal Government, demanding that it cease and desist, in the spirit and letter of the
Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

We shall commit to educating ourselves and our fellow citizens in Constitutional
principles and traditional American values so that we can effectively battle against
poisonous "progressive" ideology and position ourselves to once again establish a
government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people.

These things, among others, are our solemn duty. Let us remember that our cause is a
righteous cause. We shall not give up in it. We shall not give up on the American people
or this great nation. "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."

Hear Us Now!
Denver, Colorado
March 22, 2010

John W. Suthers
Colorado Attorney General
1525 Sherman St.
Denver, Co 80203

Attention John W. Suthers:
As you are certainly well aware, on March 21st, 2010 the United States House of Representatives
passed the Senate Health Care Reform Bill and it now awaits the signature of President Barack
Obama.

It is our contention that this bill is an assault on the United States Constitution and that it is an
infringement upon state sovereignty, specifically the sovereignty of the State of Colorado.

Congress has reached far beyond their constitutional authority attempting to use the cover of the
Commerce Clause to impose their mandates upon the individual citizens and businesses of
Colorado.

We ask that you join the at least 12 other states and file suit the second Barack Obama signs this
unconstitutional legislation.

Hear Us Now stands prepared to support you and your office in this endeavor in any and all ways.

Constitutionally yours,

Keith W. Peterson

August 22nd Recess Rally

Posted on 16 August 2009 by hearus

recess_rally_co

On August 22nd Americans across the nation will descend upon congressional offices to speak out against nationalized health care and to deliver letters to their congress persons stating their opposition to HR 3200.

There will be four Recess Rallies held in Colorado in a concentrated effort with the American Liberty Alliance and the National Recess Rally group.

The Recess Rally for Congressmen Ed Perlmutter (CD7) and Jared Polis (CD2) has been combined into one event because both men will be in the same location at the same time.

We normally would not schedule a rally for this time of day but given, as I mentioned, that we know where and when both men will be it presents an opportunity not to be passed up.

8:00 AM

Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center, 11151 Colorado Blvd.

Thornton, CO.

A second Recess Rally will be held at 12:00 PM outside the offices of Diana DeGette (CD1).

600 Grant Street in Denver.

The fourth Recess Rally has been organized by The Tea Party of Northern Colorado for Betsy Markey (CD4). For more details concerning this rally please visit the Northern Colorado Tea Party Recess Rally page.

While it is of course not required we would appreciate your communicating to us your intention to attend any of the Denver recess rallies. You can do so by emailing rally@hearus-now.org

The promised congressional letters are now available for download, a copy of the letter we will be delivering to each Congress person. Please download it, sign it and bring it to the rally with you or write your own.

If you are unable to print a copy we will have a limited number of copies available at each rally.

The signed letters will be delivered to the appropriate Congress person by hand Monday morning during regular office hours.

You may download the letters by clicking HERE.
