Liberty In The Liberty Movement?

Posted on 03 September 2010 by hearus

As Brian T. Campbell Sr. and I stood on the East steps (yes the East steps) of the Colorado State Capitol on February 27th of 2009 at the first Denver metro Tea Party, we were encouraged by the obvious unity of the some 250 – 300 persons in attendance. fight4liberty

We also shared with each other the same question, what issues could destroy what we saw growing before us?

One of those issues we thought, could be, disagreement on candidates.

Will the current disagreement between groups and individuals about the Colorado governors race destroy the Liberty movement in the state?

I don’t know, I kind of doubt it.

But the risk does exist as the animosity seems to be on the increase.

I angered and lost some allies when Tom Tancredo entered the race as a third party candidate and I expressed my belief that to enter the race as he did was not a move I, personally, supported.

People actually choose to disassociate with me because I held and continue to hold that belief.

This without my having said anything about if I believed him qualified or not to be governor of Colorado.

Wednesday evening Hear Us Now pulled it’s endorsement of Dan Maes.

The ‘fall out’ has actually been minimal, so far.

We took a few very nasty emails, lost a couple of people on our email list (gained 24 on our email list), lost a few Facebook associates and have been removed from the email list of other organizations.

This is all well and fine.

As a co-founder of Hear Us Now I state that we have, in all things, acted in honesty and with integrity and if we ceased to exist as a group tomorrow, I’m fine with going out like that.

My concern is with the sentiment of the few emails we took against our decision to pull our endorsement of Maes and with many of the messages I see across Facebook and in some email threads.

It seems that some believe they cannot be disagreed with.

There exists a core of people who support Tom Tancredo in this race and believe that a vote for Maes is not a vote based upon principle.

Clearly there is as well a core of people who also question an individuals commitment to conservatism, the Liberty movement and the state of Colorado if they are not in support of Dan Maes.

If John Hickenlooper is elected governor of Colorado, some are going to blame Maes supporters and others will blame Tancredo supporters.

Some will never get past the fact that their candidate was not elected and are going to refuse (and already are refusing) to work with those individuals and groups who supported the “other” candidate.

I state flatly; if there is no room in the Liberty movement for disagreement then there is no Liberty in the Liberty movement.

washpark

Don’t pretend you have something more important to do.

What could be more important than reclaiming our state?

It all starts at home, if we don’t reclaim the state then it makes it that much harder to reclaim the nation.

22 State House District candidates will be in attendance.

There will be auction items, some of which are:

  • Concealed Carry Weapon class for six
  • Broncos tickets
  • One week in Hawaii
  • 3 days and 2 nights in Crested Butte

There will also be a bake sale.

This IS a fund raiser.

While there is no charge to attend, please come and plan to participate in the auction, buy something from the bake sale or just write a check to a candidate who you support.

R Block Party is providing chips and drinks.

Please bring your own picnic meal.

You may contact R Block Party by emailing them at RBlockParty@comcastDOTnet.

You may also visit their Facebook page.

Come Meet Lang Sias July 14th

Posted on 01 July 2010 by hearus

We in Colorado have been fortunate enough to find ourselves to have great access this election cycle to the various candidates running for office. image

Lang Sias has been one of the most accessible of all candidates during this current cycle.

He enjoys talking to everyone, no matter if they agree with him on the issues or not.

Please join local grassroots activists Stan and Brenda Fullwood, Frederick Linder, Tracie Petry, Hear Us Now and others July the 14th 6:30 PM at the Clements Community Center in Lakewood, Co.

1580 Yarrow St

Lakewood, Co 80214

If you find yourself undecided in CD7, this is a great opportunity to hear from one of the candidates and ask him direct questions.

The upcoming election decisions which we will make are extremely important.

We cannot rely on news paper articles, blogs and second hand information when deciding who it is we will vote for, especially when we’ve an opportunity like this to meet in person and ask questions of a candidate.

Registration is not necessary but would be appreciated if you’ve the time to fill out the short form.

Tom Tancredo Endorses Lang Sias In CD7

Posted on 24 March 2010 by hearus

Tom Tancredo has endorsed Lang Sias in his campaign to unseat Ed Perlmutter. lsias

Lang Sias

Arvada, CO… Former Colorado Congressman and presidential candidate Tom Tancredo this morning officially endorsed combat veteran Lang Sias for the Republican nomination in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District.

In his remarks, Tancredo said of Sias, “Lang will be a great conservative voice in Washington. We talked at length about every issue under the sun – particularly the economy and national security – and he proved himself to be very well-versed and knowledgeable. When you listen to him relate his military background, his experience working with small Colorado businesses and his awareness of international issues, you really get the sense this guy is running for the right reasons.”

“Not to mention,” continued Tancredo, “Lang has the right stuff to go toe to toe with Ed Perlmutter.”

For his part, Lang Sias was proud to have Tancredo’s support: “It really says something about the quality campaign we’re running and the common sense message we’re getting out there to have the endorsement of a national figure like Tom Tancredo. I am honored and humbled to have him on our team.”

Ken Buck Money Bomb

Posted on 24 March 2010 by hearus

Ken Buck did great in the recent Colorado Republican caucus taking on and beating all comers.

However, one of his opponents for the nomination, Jane Norton, is very well funded.

None of us like it, but it does take cash money to run an effective political campaign.

If you do not want Jane Norton to win the Republican nomination and you do not want Michael Bennet, the current appointed Senator, to return to Washington D.C., then you must become involved with the Buck campaign.

Every last dollar makes a difference.

Consider donating today during this money bomb.
