Living Is More Expensive With A President Barack Obama

Posted on 24 January 2012 by hearus

I knew it, you knew it.

We’ve all felt it in our wallets.

It has been a slight sting to some, a powerful blow to others.

Life in America IS more expensive with President Obama steering the economic ship.

No doubt, it will continue to become more expensive.

So far, during the presidency of Barack Obama, the price of a gallon of gasoline has jumped 83 percent, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

During the same period, the price of ground beef has gone up 24 percent and price of bacon has gone up 22 percent.

When Obama entered the White House in January 2009, the city average price for one gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $1.79, according to the BLS. (The figures are in nominal dollars: not adjusted for inflation.) Five months later in June, unleaded gasoline was $2.26 per gallon, an increase of 26 percent. By December 2011, the price of regular unleaded gas per gallon was $3.28, an 83 percent increase from January 2009.

Colorado Unemployment 7.9 – Lowest Since March 2009

Posted on 24 January 2012 by hearus

“Happy days are here again,

the skies above are clear again,

Let us sing a song of cheer again,

happy days are here again.

Altogether shout it now, there’s no one who can doubt it now. So let us tell the world about it now, happy days are here again.

Your cares and troubles are gone, there’ll be no more from now on.

Happy Days Are Here Again!”

Meanwhile, two different government surveys of jobs and employment in the state showed conflicting trends.

1,000 Days Without A Senate Budget

Posted on 24 January 2012 by hearus

The shirking of duty.

That is the legacy of the Harry Reid lead Senate.

In that time the Senate has passed the so called, Obamacare legislation, bailouts and stimulus.

Yet no budget.

President Obama will deliver his State of the Union speech this evening. Will he pressure the Democrat lead Senate to pass a budget?

Jobless Claims Increase by 24,000

Posted on 12 January 2012 by hearus

I’m sure the increase is due solely to UPS letting go of the workers they hired for the holidays. unemploy

We all know that the economy is okie-dokie.

Those newly unemployed seasonal UPS workers are sure to find a McDonalds gig any day and the economy will be right back on track.

You just don’t worry your pretty little head about it.

IBT

The Labor Department said new claims in the week ended Jan. 7 increased by 24,000 to 399,000. Jobless claims have registered below the key 400,000 mark — a level historically associated with an improving labor market — in nine of the past ten weeks. Economists polled by Reuters called for an increase of 3,000.
