Frances Fox Piven: Occupy Everything, Because It Belongs To Us

Posted on 13 October 2011 by Keith W. Peterson

Last night an AFL-CIO sponsored National Teach In was held on line.

You can view the video on the 90 minute event here.

All of the speakers were students, save one. The one who was not a student was the infamous Frances Fox Piven.

You can hear the audio of her 10 minute speech here.

There is nothing earth shattering in the speech. Hers was very much a repeating of the of what we her from the student speakers before her and what we have heard from her many times before.

pivens

It is the ending of her message that struck me. I do not mean it stuck me in a way that caused me surprise. I mean it struck me in that she ends by succinctly summing up what the Occupy movement is about.

“Occupy everything, because it belongs to us.”

You Know What America Could Use? A Dictator.

Posted on 01 September 2011 by Keith W. Peterson

I’ve been hearing a lot about Congresswoman Maxine Waters and her call to President Obama to take on the banks to use his bully pulpit to rein in the “gangsters” banks and possibly tax them out of business. Fotolia_2548698_XS

The focus of most comments I have heard or read has been on the “tax them out of business” or the “gangsters” portion.

I also find those statements disturbing.

However, the over all context seems to me to be a call to the White House to be a dictator.

Do what we tell you, do it as we tell you, or we WILL destroy you.

Go Get Em’ Barack! Go Get Those Evil Banks Who Want Their Loans Paid Back!

It’s time for the bully pulpit of the White House to bring the gangsters in.

Put them around the table and let them know that if they don’t come up with loan modifications and keep people in their homes that they’ve worked so hard for, we’re going to tax them out of business.

No one of course should be surprised considering some of her other comments in the not so distant past.

Tongue tied when she realizes the admission she can now not avoid making.

The Left in America is becoming more and more bold with each passing day. They are less and less afraid of sharing their true ideology and they are more determined than ever to create the America they envision.

Your freedom, the freedom of your children and their children is at stake in a way it has never before been.

Libertarians Would Rather Let People Die…

Posted on 01 September 2011 by hearus

The following began as a Facebook note and has been republished here with permission of  Regan Benson.

Citizens,I want to make you aware of something we all know is occurring; indoctrination in college settings, slanted and mis-represented events as they have occurred in history, and teachers unwilling to source their claims.

45306kdem9vxo5j

I have recently decided to attend Arapahoe Community College as to pursue an education in a career change; paralegal. ACC is the only NBA(national bar association) accredited program in the state.

I am required to have credits in political science. I have chosen to take an American Government class. This class is accompanied with a fairly well written text book, that the instructor has made clear he will not use.

Today, the 4th day of class, we have yet to receive any instruction as it pertains to American Government. Instead the lecture topics so far have been on a fair and equal process with emphasis on compromise as they compare to countries other than the US. The instructor has made VERY clear his political stance and has offered ways to "get involved" as HE served on the Obama campaign. When I suggested attending a town hall that Congressman Mike Coffman was doing nearby, his response "Good for him, senators do not do town halls." He immediately ended class this day, on that note.

Today’s lecture included talk about the Chinese government receiving high remarks from its citizens for competent government, while emphasis was on America’s most popular failed infrastructure; road and bridge. The instructor went on to claim more money is needed to support our collapsing bridges and failing roads. To add further emphasis on the lecture, the instructor used Libertarians as an example for failing government regulations as they pertain to the FDA. (why, I have no clue, this professor is all over the place and makes very little sense to anyone other than those open to indoctrination).

His exact words: "Libertarians would much rather see/let people DIE and then SUE, before letting the government regulate drugs." He then quickly moved on to marijuana and has previously provided jokes as to "toking up" in regards to Alexis de Tocequville(the french historian known for explaining Democracy in America) while of course garnering attention and laughs from the young adults in this class.

As this point, I respectfully raised my hand again, (as he would not call on me earlier in the lecture) he was very hesitant and attempted to ignore me as to not have to call on me. He finally did so after I kept my hand up. I asked him "Could you please source your claim that Libertarians would rather let people die." Of course he could not and became very defensive and told me I should study up, reading any articles on Libertarians. Well, it was all downhill from there for the next 2 minutes and he immediately ended class and then confronted me in the hall; as many students wanted to speak with me, one being an attendee of a Liberty chapter.

We moved to his office as I told him confronting me in the hall was inappropriate. He accused me of being "angry" and I immediately ended the conversation and attempted to leave as his only evident recourse was to peg me as angry and irrational when he in fact had been caught in a series of major academic fallacies.

As I attempted to leave, he followed me insisting I not leave and get back in his office, I dashed for the elevator because he made me downright uncomfortable, he pursued, he then prevented the elevator doors from closing 4 times after repeated requests from me to "leave me alone". He finally went away when I said I was going to call security. I have reported him, of course. We shall see of the outcome. I will not drop this class, I expect to learn about American Government.

If I had done this, at the very least I would be suspended from the college and more than likely arrested and prosecuted. There are cameras all over this school.

Your thoughts……….Are we supposed to ignore this?……..And it is we, the defenders of freedom that are pegged as angry, violent and irrational.

Ron “The Free Market is Nonsense” Bloom to Exit the Obama Administration

Posted on 17 August 2011 by Keith W. Peterson

Slightly old news, but I hadn’t seen this any where until today.

Ron Mao Tse Bloom will be leaving the Obama administration at the end of this month.

You may remember Bloom, the Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy, for remarks he made in 2008 (see video below).

Remarks which alternative media gave a lot of play, but the MSM ignored and which the administration down played since Bloom joined the administration in September of 2009.

White House

Today, the White House announced Ron Bloom will be stepping down from his position as the Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy at the end of August.

“For the past two and a half years, Ron Bloom’s leadership and expertise has helped us put America’s automakers back on the road to recovery, launch new partnerships to make our manufacturers more competitive, and set aggressive fuel economy standards that will save consumers and businesses money at the pump,” said President Obama. “I’m grateful for his service, and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

“I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve under President Obama and alongside so many talented individuals who worked tirelessly to strengthen the economy and help  communities across the nation,” said  Bloom. “We’ve faced many tough choices and dealt with numerous challenges over the past two and a half years — from  restructuring the American auto industry to developing historic fuel efficiency standards.   I am confident in this Administration’s ability to build on these accomplishments and continue our efforts to revitalize the manufacturing sector.”

Generally speaking, we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense.

We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market, or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money because they’re convinced that there is a free lunch.

We know this is largely about power, that it’s an adults-only, no-limit game.

We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend you should get a dog.
