| Nothing surprising here.
The Governor posted his response on the Colorado government website and Facebook.
His statement was also featured on the White House website. |
 |
The response, encapsulated; Kumbya, and rah, rah, rah.
Oh, and something about handcuffs…

“The President tonight hit a tone about working together that is familiar to Coloradans. People here know that partisanship is a significant roadblock to partnership. We must use collaboration as a means to finding solutions to keep pushing our state and our country closer to full economic recovery.
“We join the President in the pursuit of unnecessary regulations that handcuff aspiring entrepreneurs, and we applaud his support of great teachers and our nation’s military.
“We were also encouraged to hear the President talk so much about clean energy, as Colorado is leading the nation when it comes to renewable energy research and development. Many of the new jobs the President talked for this industry will be created in Colorado – and we are ready.”

The AP has reported that the Social Security is running in the red and will be drained of all funds by 2037.
I am personally not a fan of Social Security and I’ve never assumed that I would pull out of it what I put in. |
 |
We all know it’s a ponzi scheme. Were I to ever receive Social Security, I would end up taking more from it than I ever put in.
In essence, stealing from those who work as I sit in my easy chair watching The Price is Right and and adjusting the settings on my oxygen tank.
During the 2006 State of the Union, the Democrats celebrated their obstructionism which blocked Social Security reform.
I am not defending or touting the Bush plan to “save” Social Security.
I don’t believe it is worth the saving except for those who have paid a significant amount into it and are either currently retired or soon to retire.
The following video, in my opinion, depicts the truth of the Left and who they are.
The video is meant only to demonstrate the truth of the Left and not as a defense of George W. Bush or the Republican party.

| This past evening in the State of the Union address, President Obama referenced spending and the deficit each, eleven times.
I suppose this was done to make us believe he is concerned about these two things. |
 |
While he spoke of freezing annual domestic spending for five years and some actual cuts, he also made it very clear he has some large and very ambitious spending plans.
Seems somewhat self defeating.
As well he spoke of increasing taxes on the wealthiest 2% of Americans.
He further mentioned eliminating the tax dollars given to oil companies (as though the oil companies are the only business receiving tax dollars) which I’m fine with, except for the fact that those tax dollars would not be returned to the American citizen.
Those tax dollars would simply go into the government coffers.
I write this because a friend emailed me after the address and told me how impressed he was with the speech.
How clearly dedicated Mr. Obama is to righting our fiscal ship. How the president has clearly adopted a new philosophy since the November 2, 2010 elections.
Don’t be impressed, the man has not changed. He is as dedicated to confiscating and redistributing wealth as he ever was.
I myself did not note the lighter tone my friend did.
He sounded very much like the same President Obama to me.

| Senator Jim Demint cut to the chase via a Tweet last evening during President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address. |
 |

A fat man does not become thin by continuing to consume the same amount of food each day and refusing to exercise.
A fat government cannot find fiscal health without reducing its consumption and without exercising fiscal restraint.
With all due respect Mr. President… step away from the doughnut fat man. You’ve eaten enough.

| President Barack Obama will deliver his State of the Union address ten minutes from the time I’ve begun typing this.
I’ll watch, it is in my interest to know what the leader of my nation has to say. |
 |
I however expect it to be void of substance. In my search my substance, I’m not even expecting to find much in the Republican response.
However there is one State of the Union address scheduled for this evening where I do fully expect to find some substance.
That address will be delivered after the president has spoken and will be delivered by John Stossel of Fox Business News.
Mr. Stossel will deliver “The Libertarian State of the Union”.
As well, Michele Bachmann will deliver a Tea Party response to the Presidents State of the Union address.
